Laga, Ragalor - Her Name Remains

Will you share my fire
If I choose
Will you carry my name
I already carry mine
I love nothing hidden in my hands
I can share a better roof, a distant plan but
I will never kneel to earn your love
Do not ask me to grow quiet at your side
I was whole before you ever knew my face
Stand with me
Do not stand in front of me
If I stay
It is because
I choose you
If I leave
It is because
I still choose me
Love me besides you
Never beneath you
Hold my hand
Do not close it around me
I can share your fire
I still choose my robe
I can build a home without being home
Do not call it love
If my voice must disappear
I will not grow smaller to make you feel strong
My heart can choose you without losing me
She may give you her heart
But her name remains true
I was taught that love should bind two lives as one
But love that binds too tightly leaves no room to breathe
Your freedom is not something
I must maintain
Your strength beside me, there's no less in mine
If you remain, I know it is your choice
If you depart, I will not curse your name
I ask no shadow of the woman standing here
Then stand with me and meet me eye to eye
Do you need my name to make you worthy
No, but
I will honor it if you walk with me
Love is not possession, just this care
A vow is not a cage that two people share
There is no water in a silenced white
There is no strength in ruling someone someone's life
She chooses who may walk beside her
She chooses when their road must part
A worthy man will never try to own her
He earns his place by honoring her heart
My heart is not a chain
My freedom is not distant
I can choose you fully
And still belong to myself
Then keep your name
And let our love be chosen every day
No change
No change upon her name
No shadow on her face
Let love be strong enough to leave her home
Let two free hearts decide to share one role
She gives no doubt
She does the world command
She gives it freely with an open hand
Her life, her path
Walk beside me
As your equal
Keep your name and
I will keep choosing you
